I have created a keynote presentation, I want to export as a quicktime movie,
I want to click through the slides using a single click per slide,
When I click the slide once the slide automatically performs the animations.
Then stops
I click again once to the next slide, and so on.
Is this possible?

Manual advance in Quicktime is not available in the current version of Keynote.
It was available in iWork 09 version which used a different version of QuickTime.
iWok 09 is still available from Amazon and Ebay and is compatible with El Capitan.

iWork 09 was the suite of applications that was available before Keynote 6 was released. It contained Keynote version 5, Numbers and Pages: iWork 09

Yes: File > Export > Keynote 09
Be aware there are differences between the two versions as many themes and effects are different between the two.
then open the converted file in Keynote 5.3
